Calm in Crises: Turning Incidents into Systemic Resilience

We recently hosted a Circle on "Calm in Crises: Turning Incidents into Systemic Resilience," led by Petr Burian, tech leaders mentor and ex-CTO of Livesport. The session focused on the socio-technical side of crises and mistakes—not just how to resolve incidents, but how to turn them into a strategic investment in quality, stability, and culture. Together we explored the socio-technical balance of managing stress and shame so people aren't afraid to admit mistakes, effective post-mortems that uncover systemic root causes rather than scapegoats, how to communicate failures with the board and customers without damaging reputation, and building a learning culture that treats mistakes as investments worth celebrating once we've improved. Participants shared challenging situations and battle-tested solutions, walking away with a curated list of actionable recommendations from Petr and their peers.
